Defining Cars with Color, Light, and Atmosphere

Transparent watercolor on white paper really brings cars to life.

I have found watercolors to be perfect for capturing the depth of paint, reflection, and texture seen in fine automobiles. Part of the "life" in watercolor paintings is that there is no white paint used--everything is translucent color, often applied in multiple layers, and any white you see is where no paint has been applied. With watercolors, light passes though the translucent medium and is reflected back out toward the viewer with natural levels and depth of color.

I've been doing automotive art as a sideline since 2002. You can see much of the art I've done since then in the Works section of this website. Information on print availability and price accompanies each image.
