These airbrush and gouache paintings (click on each image above to see the full picture) were created by artists at a New York advertising agency sometime during 1956, to be shown to General Motors management to preview how the carmaker's advertising and dealer brochure art would look for the 1957 model year. All the cars shown are 1957 models except for the 1956 Cadillac; the '57 Eldorado's rear styling may not have been finalized at the time these paintings were commissioned.
Note how the figure art is grafted into the car art for the Buicks and the Pontiac. At a large agency in the 1950s, it was common practice for different artists to work on the cars and the figures.
These original paintings are part of a private collection and are not available as prints.
