| I set out to give this painting a patriotic flair with the red, white, and blue of the 1973 Pontiac Firebird, the bold clouds, and the bright Colorado sky. As soon as I realized the Rocky Mountains would loom purple in the distance, I decided to add the amber waves of grain and the fruited plain. This is a portrait not just of an American muscle car, but in a way a portrait of America itself, through the eyes of car buffs. |
