I’ve been quite inspired by the lines of Jaguar’s XK models, helped out by a series of commissions from the local Jaguar dealer. I do believe the XK120 coupe is one of the most perfect shapes from automotive design history. Inspired by exotic teardrop-shaped Talbot Lagos, Bugattis, and other expensive automobiles, Sir William Lyons created an affordable car for the postwar American market that would put ordinary people behind the wheel of a car that looked like Clark Gable should be driving it.
